Villa Aurora is a rustic modern-built L-shaped villa situated on the north east edge of the small village of El Roque and just a few minutes drive from El Cotillo and its beaches.
It stands on a plot of 1400 sq metres surrounded with a dry stone wall, there are magnificent views to the sea and surf to the west and nothing but open countryside all the way to the north coast beaches and the lighthouse, 'El Toston'. The hills of Lanzarote can be seen to the north east.
The villa has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large (20m x 4.8m) open plan living area with large windows for all round views. All rooms open to the patio which has a 6m x 3m pool for the very hot days. There is an upstairs lounge, that has all round views, with a small terrace. This location is ideal for walking on the flat volcanic landscape and in the hills to the south. It is very peaceful.
There is WiFi Internet - 4G router giving about 20Mbps ( free access )
Coast/Beach:
Villa Aurora is a 5 minute drive or 25 min walk from the fabulous beaches of El Cotillo. To the north are sheltered white sand, crystal clear lagoons for sun bathing and swimming. To the south are fantastic golden sand surfing/windsurfing/kite boarding beaches for those who like to take part or just to watch. Courses are available. The sand dunes of Correlejo are a 30 min drive away.
Travel: El Roque is about 43km from the airport, 30 min drive on a new road ( Autovia ). Alternative route, 40 min drive, the roads meandering for the most part through and around the hills. Full directions will be sent on booking. Car hire is recommended.
Distances: El Roque is about 1km from El Cotillo, it is a little further to the north and south beaches. Correlejo with its many shops, restaurants, cafes and night life is a 20 min drive through Lajares (8km away). There are local buses linking the various places. Betancuria (the old capital) is about 1 hours drive away. Further away there is a zoo, ideal if you have had too much sun or if there is not enough.
Further Details: In El Cotillo there is a large supermarket and two smaller ones. There are many restaurants, bars and various small shops as well as a bank and cash machines. Outside El Cotillo, on the way to the north beaches, there is a beach cafe and restaurant.
